Cardinal Langley RC High School has scored a prestigious nomination in the 2025 Educate Awards, securing a place on the shortlist for Outstanding Commitment to Sport in Secondary School.
The Middleton school impressed judges with its dedication to physical activity both on campus and across the wider borough, with more than 100 students taking part in extra-curricular sports weekly. The PE department’s leadership of the Rochdale Schools PE Forum and borough-wide competition calendar also played a key role in securing the nod, along with a whopping 105 evening fixtures, including 22 events promoting girls’ participation.
Winners will be revealed at a glittering ceremony at Liverpool Anglican Cathedral on Friday, November 14, featuring live performances and a gala dinner.
Kim O’Brien, founder of the Educate Awards, called the entries this year “outstanding,” and praised the innovation and drive shown by school staff across the region.
With competition from Maghull High School and St James’ Catholic High School, the stakes are high, but Cardinal Langley has already proved it’s playing in the top league.
